History : Triumph Structures - Wichita

Triumph Structures - Wichita was founded in 1975 as Excel Manufacturing, Inc.  At that time, our core competency was CNC turning and grinding. In the late 1980’s, we ventured into CNC Milling, and became known for our incorporation of technology by utilizing a robotic system for loading and unloading machined product.

In the early 1990’s, we once again evolved by investing in technology related to a little known machining capability called “high speed machining”. By 1996, we were known within the industry as one of the most innovative and progressive “high speed machining” organizations in the area. In late 1997, we were awarded the “Metro Award” for the fastest growing company in the region. 

In 2002, we invested in additional technology, purchasing the world’s first Makino MAG3 FMS System. 

In 2004, we were selected as the “Boeing Supplier of the Year for Purchased Outside Production”. 

In April 2006, we were purchased by Triumph Group, and have continued our philosophy of being innovative with technology based investments.
