Triumph Aerostructures – Vought Aircraft Division – Milledgeville has a vast array of bonding fabrication capability. We have a dedicated honeycomb core fabrication department that utilizes both hand shaping and multi-axis trim equipment.
We have nearly 130,000 square feet of clean room space and use both hand and automated lay-up. The company operates two Fiber Tow Placement systems for automated fabrication. In addition, we use nine Rapid Ply Cutting systems and more than 100 Laser Ply Projection systems in the fabrication process.
Our curing capabilities include six autoclaves. The largest system in diameter is 15’ x 45,’ with the largest depth being 12’ x 65’. This provides us with the capability to manufacture some of the largest composite structures used in today’s aircraft.
The company has multiple 3-axis and 5-axis trim cells with large envelope part capacity. Many of our trim machines also have the capability to CMM inspect trim, and close tolerance hole location. We use both hard cutters and high-pressure water trim.
