Mechanical design and analysis frequently represents the core of our solution process. This service offering requires in-depth technical expertise in many disciplines, depending on program requirements. We have a team of highly skilled engineering, manufacturing and assembly personnel to support RDT&E programs. Our team has experience in a wide variety of composites, test devices and turbomachinery systems. Core engineering skills, combined with a broad product base, enable us to achieve best of industry engineering solutions.

The ability of Triumph Aerospace Systems - Newport News to execute detailed and reliable design and analysis is another discriminator. Computational fluid dynamics and computational structural and thermal analysis are routine tools for solving complex problems. Unique to the analysis implementation, however, is the practical experience set gained from building test hardware, operating wind tunnels, conducting tests and analyzing data.  This combination of comprehensive analysis capability and experimental experience provides the engineering team with a distinct technical advantage over purely analytical competitors.

Triumph Aerospace Systems - Newport News currently supports a wide variety of aerospace and industrial gas turbine customers with design, analysis, manufacture, assembly, instrumentation, calibration and testing of component rigs and fully assembled engines. Our premier competency is the design of fully instrumented, multi-stage fan, compressor and turbine rigs complete with variable stator vane systems. These rigs are outfitted with strain, pressure temperature and special instruments to assess aero and structural performance. These test systems are highly complex, requiring a rigorous systems engineering approach, control of part tolerances, and close attention to detail.

The development of advanced test hardware requires sophisticated supporting analyses to verify structural integrity and dynamic behavior of these systems.  At Triumph, we have the computing tools and staff to provide this advanced engineering analysis.
