Don Baumbach
General Manager / Operations

Don Baumbach brings more than 20 years of aerospace experience to his position at Triumph Actuation Systems - Yakima. As the head of Operations, Mr. Baumbach is responsible for the company’s material planning, machine shop, manufacturing engineering, programming, assembly and test, repair and overhaul, facilities and maintenance activities. He has worked for the predecessor companies, GE Aviation Systems and Smiths Aerospace, since 2002 in a variety of operations leadership positions and locations. Mr. Baumbach began his career as a Quality Engineer at the Johnson Space Center and went on to other quality and factory management positions for Dowty Aerospace – Yakima before joining Smiths Aerospace as a Senior Project Manager in Arle Court, UK.

Mr. Baumbach earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M University. In 2008 he joined the Yakima Downtown Rotary Club since and has served on its board since 2014.

Thomas J. Hennessy
Quality

Thomas Hennessy leads the Quality function for Triumph Actuation Systems - Yakima. He has spent his entire career in the aerospace industry, bringing more than 35 years of experience to his position with Triumph. Mr. Hennessy spent his first 26 years working for Smiths Aerospace as a Quality Manager and then eight years as a Customer Service and Quality Manager for GE Aviation. He was promoted to his current position as Director of Quality in 2014.

Mr. Hennessy attended Washington State University, is a Green Belt in Lean/Six Sigma, is an ASQ Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, ASQ Quality Auditing, RABQSA AS9100 Lead Auditor, FAA DMIR, and is an FAA Repairman, CAAC145. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Quality.

Donna Rice
Program Management / Sourcing

Donna Rice has worked for the company since 2005 and currently manages customer relationships, program performance, and sourcing activities for Triumph Actuation Systems – Yakima. She joined Smiths Aerospace, a predecessor company, as a subcontract manager and buyer and went on to hold several supply chain and program management positions before assuming her current position in 2014. Earlier in her career, Ms. Rice spent 10 years working as General Manager for Cascade Quality Molding, Inc. She also has non-profit management experience, having worked as Assistant Director for Provident Services.

Ms. Rice holds an associate’s degree in business from Yakima Valley Community College, a bachelor’s degree in business from Central Washington University, and an MBA from Washington State University. She volunteers her time as a mediator for Dispute Mediation Services of Yakima.

Paul Richards
Finance

Paul Richards brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his position with Triumph Actuation Systems - Yakima. Since 2003 he has been the company’s Controller, responsible for all elements of finance. In addition, he manages the IT and Contracts areas of the business. Mr. Richards joined Smiths Aerospace, a predecessor company, in the UK in 1995 as a Finance Director. Prior to that, he spent four years working for Gallaher Limited in the UK as an accountant. He began his career as an accountant for Groupe Schnieder – UK & Australia.

Mr. Richards is a licensed professional with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. 

Stan Griffin
Engineering

Stan Griffin has worked for the company since 2006 and is responsible for all aspects of the engineering team, including design, analysis, qualification/certification testing, MRB, technical publications, and configuration management. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his position with Triumph Actuation Systems – Yakima. Mr. Griffin began his career with Boeing in Everett, WA, as a Design Engineer on the 747 and 767 aircraft programs. He went on to work for Boeing’s defense business in Wichita, KS, as a Lead Engineer on an airborne laser program and then Engineering Manager for teams modifying commercial platforms for military use.

Mr. Griffin earned his bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. 

Rod Farabee
Repair & Overhaul

Rod is responsible for the overall performance of the R&O business.  He manages customer relationships, account performance and oversees the employees in the business.  He joined GE Aviation Systems, a predecessor company, in 2012.  Rod has prior experience as a manager of supply chain, programs and operations in both the automotive and aerospace industries.  He served four years in the United States Coast Guard as a Flight Mechanic and Aircraft Electrician and is an FAA Repairman.

Mr. Farabee holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Nebraska.  He earned his C.P.M. from the Institute for Supply Management in 2007.
