Richard A. Reed
President

Rick Reed is the President of Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons. He has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry, and joined the organization in 2000 as Director of Business Development and Aftermarket Services. In March of 2003, he was promoted to President, and is responsible for providing overall strategic direction and leadership for the company, including executing on existing backlog and generating the financial returns expected by working with management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

Mr. Reed earned his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he remains very active as a regular speaker at Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Events. Mr. Reed was also named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation in appreciation of his significant efforts in the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world. He is a licensed Commercial Pilot with Multi-Engine and Instrument rating and also holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.

Thomas Alan Ervin
Engineering

Tom Ervin joined Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons in October 2001 where he is currently responsible for design, development, and test engineering of design-to-specification products, program management, configuration management, and contract administration. Prior to that, he served as Group Director-OEM at Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons overseeing Operations, Facilities, and Sales Management. Mr. Ervin has been in the Aerospace Fluid Power industry for 20 years with a diverse background in Engineering, Quality, Operations and Program Management.

Mr. Ervin attended Belhaven University and has extensive training and certifications in engineering and fluid dynamics.

Ken Allen
Sales and Marketing

Ken Allen has been in the aerospace industry for over 35 years, and joined Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons in 2002. Currently, he is responsible for all Aftermarket activity including repair/overhaul, spares, CMMs, and technical support. He previously served as Customer Service Engineer and Product Support Manager at Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons. His prior experience includes positions in technical, maintenance, engineering, and management with aircraft manufacturers, major domestic airlines, and third party repair stations specifically in the areas of landing gear systems and hydraulic accessories.

Mr. Allen is a licensed private pilot and also holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.

Sally Mericle
Operations

Sally Mericle joined Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons in 2005, and is responsible for all manufacturing, assembly, testing, and supply chain functions. Prior to her current position, Ms. Mericle was a program manager for four years at Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons. Her prior experience includes over 20 years in various operations, manufacturing, and logistics related positions.

Ms. Mericle earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Douglas E. Meadows
Finance

Doug Meadows has significant experience in the accounting field, having started his career in 1998. Since that time, he has progressively attained more responsible roles, and joined Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons in 2011, where he is now responsible for all operational elements related to finance, accounting, and internal controls. His prior experience includes positions as the Controller and Vice President for Piedmont/Hawthorne Aviation, Chief Accounting Officer for Southern Housing, and Chief Financial Officer for Phoenix Housing Group.

Mr. Meadows graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration on accounting from Appalachian State University, and is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina.

David Phelps
Continuous Improvement

David Phelps has been in the manufacturing industry for over 30 years, and is currently responsible for all maintenance and process improvement activities at Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons – a role he has served since joining in 2007. Mr. Phelps has served in a variety of progressively more challenging roles over the last 30 years in design and development engineering, manufacturing and information technology.

Mr. Phelps earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering, both from North Carolina State University. He is also a licensed professional engineer, and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. In his off hours, Mr. Phelps has performed overseas mission work, and helps lead a Boy Scout troop.

OJ Carriegos
Quality

OJ Carriegos joined Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons in 2000, and has over 40 years of Quality Management experience in the aerospace industry. He is currently responsible for all aspects of quality at Triumph Actuation Systems, LLC, including systems, procedures and certifications. His background extends to all aspect of aerospace manufacturing including design, testing, and manufacturing engineering.

Mr. Carriegos attended Santa Clara University and the University of Connecticut. He has extensive training in quality and manufacturing engineering, and earned certifications as a CQE and NDT examiner.

Patrick Murtha
Operations – Triumph Actuation Systems - Freeport

Pat Murtha has been with Triumph Actuation Systems – Clemmons/Freeport since 1994, and is currently responsible for the operations at Triumph Actuation Systems - Freeport NY. Prior to be promoted to this role in 2008, Mr. Murtha was the Director of Operations and the Director of Quality at both locations. Prior to joining Triumph Actuation Systems, Mr. Murtha worked in a variety of more progressive roles in the quality field for Grumman Bethpage.

Mr. Murtha served in the United States Navy Submarine Service for four years, and has extensive training and certifications in quality, manufacturing operations, engineering and fluid dynamics.
