History : Triumph Actuation & Motion Control Systems - UK
Triumph Actuation & Motion Control Systems - UK began as Saygrove Ltd, designing and manufacturing electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies until the mid-1990s, when the focus of the business moved towards the manufacture of defense electronics. The capabilities continued to evolve as a result of market challenges and, by the late 1990s, Saygrove were able to offer a full systems, electronics, and software design capability which resulted in wins of some prestigious contracts for the aerospace industry.
The four long-term contracts which were placed with the business provided a solid foundation on which to invest and, in early 2001, the company started to develop a range of innovative ‘all-electric’ technologies which included electronic actuation controllers, sensors, actuators, software and control algorithms. A consolidated development programme then allowed the business to offer, by the beginning of 2005, fully integrated actuation system solutions to both the defense and aerospace markets.
The company, then operating as Saygrove Defence & Aerospace Group Ltd, was acquired by Triumph Group in March 2009 and renamed as Triumph Actuation & Motion Control Systems - UK.
