Triumph Group Acquires Product Lines

Wayne, PA, September 25, 2000 - Triumph Group, Inc. (NYSE: TGI) today announced that, subject to regulatory approval, it has agreed to buy certain assets from Honeywell International, Inc. used in connection with the design, manufacture, and overhaul of hydraulic pumps (including those used in electrohydrostatic flight controls), motors and power transfer units. Applications for these products include North American and European manufactured transport aircraft as well as existing and next-generation fighters and rotorcraft. Currently located at Honeywell's Rocky Mount, North Carolina facility, the hydraulics product lines will be produced at Triumph's Frisby Aerospace, Inc. subsidiary, located in Clemmons, North Carolina. Frisby Aerospace is part of the Control Systems Group within Triumph. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the month. According to Triumph Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Richard C. Ill, the acquisition of these product lines is a great opportunity for the Control Systems Group specifically and Triumph Group as a whole as it allows us to expand the breadth of capabilities we are able to offer our customers and furthers our ability to engineer and produce more complete systems solutions. Triumph Group, Inc., headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, designs, engineers, manufactures, and overhauls aircraft components. The Company serves a broad worldwide spectrum of the aviation industry, including commercial airlines and air cargo carriers, as well as original equipment manufacturers of aircraft and aircraft components.
